This page describes how I use AI on this site and in projects that may appear on this site. For more information on AI pages, see slashAI.page.
I think generative AI needs to be used thoughtfully, and in general, less is better.
I may brainstorm with AI. I don't use AI to generate any parts of any text I write, or ask it to help edit, reorganize, smooth over anything, or otherwise change any of the content. In general, I also consider my grammar and spelling to be decent enough, so I honestly don't think I've used any spellchecking or grammar correction tools in a way beyond what they were like pre-genAI.
As with writing, I may brainstorm with AI or use it as a reference, but I don't knowingly use AI in any parts of any images, graphics, layouts, etc. that I make. (I say "knowingly" because when I use stock images, I always filter out AI-generated images, but that depends on them being labelled correctly.)
I use Github CoPilot's inline suggestions in VS Code, as I find it's usually faster for repetitive code compared to me copy-pasting. I also struggle with TypeScript a bit and have occasionally used it to fix type errors after banging my head against a wall (figuratively).
I have used Codex (now just ChatGPT) for parts of past coding projects. Nowadays for my personal projects, I use it solely in Plan mode if I'm stuck on something, consider its suggestions, and then implement the code myself. Since the code for this specific site is relatively simple so far, I haven't used AI for it.
I always end up planning things by myself (I also don't trust AI to not accidentally let something slip through the cracks). However, when making travel plans, I sometimes will ask AI questions (tho mostly about travel safety) and take that information into consideration.
